Thought I would just make a note stating this doesn’t mean you have to run on the treadmill until you burn off exactly 500 calories.
Don’t forget that you burn calories by breathing, sleeping, walking, going to class, waiting tables, cleaning, laughing, and eating. You can get online and use a guide to find out how many calories you normally burn per day without exercising.
Let’s say you eat 2000 calories in a day. You have to burn 500 more calories than you consumed if you want to lose weight. Using the guide, you can guesstimate how many calories you burn on your own by considering all the variables in your life (school, job, etc.). Let’s pretend that in a given day you burn 200 calories without exercising (I’m just making these numbers up to make a point, I have no idea if 200 is realistic or not). That means you have 300 calories left to burn. Therefore, you’d only have to exercise off 300 calories per day in order to burn a net total of 500, giving you a 500 deficit, hence losing a pound a week. If you eat a 100 calorie cookie, you do not have to immediately get on the elliptical until you burn 100 calories. You do not have to exercise off everything that you eat. You can not be on the elliptical all day and burn all 2000 calories you consumed. It’s unrealistic and unhealthy. Figure out how many calories you normally burn in a day, then subtract that from 500.
Questions?
Ooh look, I have a big pointy manly brickbutt too! And those tits are obviously glue-ons……
Seriously though, I can’t not weigh in on this.
So. Do I look manly? Actually I don’t give a shit. I don’t think I do, I love my body and all it’s curves. Maybe I’m just lucky, but I don’t think so. Unless I hit the heavy weights, that ass of mine will slack off quicker than the kids at the back of the class.
I work hard to get where I am. I am a big advocate of weight training and I especially don’t like the ‘manly’ argument.
Weight training gives so many benefits! Women seriously need to jump on this train!
- Increased metabolic rate - having more muscle mass burns more calories on a daily basis! Want to lose fat? Incorporate weights.
- Increases and restores bone density. Incredibly important to help prevent osteoporosis.
- Injury prevention - weight training strengthens muscles, tendons and ligaments.
- Improved balance - strengthening legs and core works wonders.
- Achieve that ever-desirable ‘toned’ look. Sorry girls, you may see the models in the magazines holding pretty little pink and yellow dumbbells, but I guarantee you they didn’t use them to get in that shape.
- You will feel empowered and capable. Some think this is a manly characteristic. I think that is an antiquated view on gender-based roles and they need to piss off.
The most important point:
YOU WILL NOT TURN INTO A SHE-HULK BY PICKING UP A DUMBBELL OR A BARBELL.
Unless you deliberately and consistently eat at a caloric surplus and train really really hard, you won’t bulk up. You just won’t.
Want a nice curvy round butt? Squats and Deadlifts.
Want lovely defined shoulders? Bench and Overhead Press.
Nice back? Pullups and Rows.
Make yourself a set of goals. Find out what it takes to achieve them.
Do it.
Never let anyone tell you otherwise or make you feel bad.

Alright, so I got back into the swing of unhealthy eating. It’s okay though. I’m ready to give healthy eating another go and ready to stick with it. Honestly, the hardest part is the food. I’m one hella lazy person, and I hate cooking. Cos then you have to buy the groceries, prep the food, clean up after—it’s just a really long, daunting process to me. But this time, I will do it.
I’m not eating healthy to lose weight. I’m eating healthy to be healthy. Healthy people are happier, and have better face complexions lol. What motivates me now? My face complexion. It’s ridiculous. Ever since I started college it’s gotten sooooo bad. But I read that Acne Face Map thing, that tells you what’s behind the cause of your acne. A lot of it is form unhealthy eating habits and not enough physical activity.
I wanna run. The time change is awesome, cos now I can run when the sun is up. But I’m gonna try really really hard to run in the morning. I can do it. I know I can.

This is what real food looks like.
You don’t need to starve yourself in order to lose weight. And you don’t need to feed yourself crappy “300-calorie” frozen dinner packages. All you need are wholesome foods and balanced meals.
Rethink what goes into your mouth and how you fuel your body. Rethink how you’re taking care of yourself.
- Skinny Bitch
- Crazy Sexy Diet
- Perks of Being a Wallflower
I want similar books to The Hunger Games…or Harry Potter! They’re both equal in action & romance <3
